Where is the DCConnect office?

The dual career office is located in the Provost's Office in the Alumni Memorial Building, 27 Memorial Drive West, Bethlehem, PA.

What type of services does DCConnect provide?

DCConnect is primarily concentrated on helping dual career couples. However our website also provides basic information about the relocation to the Lehigh Valley, Visa Assistance through the Office of International Affairs, and basic Campus Information and Resources

Am I guaranteed employment through dual career services?

We will do everything possible to assist you in your search and creating networking opportunities. However, neither DCConnect nor Lehigh University guarantees job placement. We cannot create positions or intervene in a hiring supervisor's or employer's hiring process.

Can you help find a faculty position at Lehigh University?

The program manager will forward a curriculum vitae to the Deputy Provost of Faculty Affairs for further attention.

Will I be given preferential treatment for Lehigh positions?

The hiring supervisor may be contacted to identify you as a dual career candidate for a Lehigh position. However, there is no guarantee of placement.

Lehigh University has a network of business contacts in the community. Through the program, you can obtain resource information about the local business community, job openings, and potential introductions to contacts of interest.

What career support services are offered?

DCConnect will provide individual career consulting such as: questions related to career changes, job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing styles and preparation, evaluating offers and salary negotiation. We also have career resources available at http://dcconnect.lehigh.edu/dual-career-support

How do I receive consideration for staff positions at Lehigh?

The University maintains a list of open faculty and staff positions (https://hr.lehigh.edu/careers) at Lehigh. Faculty partners and spouses are invited to apply for positions that match their credentials and career goals. If an appropriate staff position at Lehigh is not currently listed, the spouse or partner is encouraged to contact the dual career program manager for more information about staff opportunities (non-exempt and exempt, including research scientists) at Lehigh. The HERC network (http://www.hercjobs.org/nj_east_pa_delaware) also includes staff positions in higher education.

How do I receive consideration for faculty positions at Lehigh?

Lehigh University is committed to responding to the needs of tenure-track faculty (pre-tenure and tenured) in dual career couples within the context of the university's mission and goals, college strategic plans, and available resources. The University maintains a list of open faculty and staff positions (https://hr.lehigh.edu/careers) at Lehigh. Faculty partners and spouses are invited to apply for positions that match their credentials and career goals. If an appropriate faculty position at Lehigh is not currently listed, twe encourage you to contact our dual career program coordinator to help identify opportunities at other local higher education institutions as well as the HERC network ((http://www.hercjobs.org/nj_east_pa_delaware) and contact regional institutions as part of their strategy to identify an appropriate position within reasonable distance from Lehigh.
